First Impressions

Tonight is our first meeting with our County Foster Care Licencor.  I am a little nervous.  I want to make the best first impression possible.  We cleaned the main floor of the house and also the kids bedrooms and bathrooms.  We still have a lot of work to do on the 2 rooms that we will be using for Foster Care.  It is going to take a little time to get those cleaned out and put together the right way. 

One of the things she will be looking at tonight is our emergency plan and how our house is set up.  She may need to have the Fire Marshall come in and assess the situation.  Hopefully this isn't a problem.

Melissa (the Licencor) mailed me a big packet of paper work.  I have filled out as much as possible.  There are so many things they want to know.  A discipline policy, our religious affiliation, how we were raised, medical background, etc.  It is a lot.  I understand why they ask what they do.  Background checks will need to be done.  There are a ton of training videos to watch and a car seat safety class to attend.

I took some time for my self this weekend and snuck away with some girlfriends.  We laughed, sewed, feasted, napped, watched movies, etc.  It was a fabulous time.  I need to do more of that stuff.
